Some people do volunteer work in person - I do it online. With a doctor of psychology, I give 2 hours a week to answer your questions here on Twitch and elsewhere. Interact, learn something new, and while this isn't therapy - you'll walk away learning something new and getting information you might never have known.
With over 19 million+ Quora views on answers...show your commitment and support the cause.
Whatever you give helps support my answering questions, and the time it takes to work on the stream and streaming itself.
I love fitness, my dog, my wife, my cat, and people who are good to others.
I got my doc in clinical psych when I was 25, and have worked everywhere from hospitals, prisons, colleges, and private practice to now coaching some well known people and companies primarily in finance and tech.
To brag, I've been featured in some great places - Greatist, LifeHacker, NBCNews, Vox, Vice, Men's Health, Time Magazine, BravoTV, The Wall Street Journal, etc.
...but what good is it if it doesn't help others? Great psychology info shouldn't be a mystery, and a lot of information online is wrong. So I take time out from my work, and offer some of the things I've learned back to the community.
I started this stream to answer questions on psychology - Anything you've been curious about or want to learn more about.
This stream will likely be upbeat, high energy, and fun. Feel free to ask questions and interact, because that's what it's all about!
Just don't be a jerk to others, and we're good.
**Also, I hold my pen incorrectly just like this photo.
Note! Break until January 2nd!!
Ask general questions about mental health and psychology to a psych doc for free. Note: This is not therapy, but will give you info!
Next Virtual Office hours? Tuesday 5:00-6:00pm EST Thursday 5:00-6:00pm EST
Questions about mental health, therapy, psychology and treatments welcome! I'll be answering your questions live, and come with a list others have submitted too!
Want to know more about what depression is, etc.. is or what the recommended treatment is? Want to know what therapy is like or what different types are? Have general questions about concussions and sports?
Toss them my way, and let's chat!
Note that this isn't therapy or giving any sort of medical advice, simply giving you more information about topics to learn more & make informed decisions on your own. Think of it as your own personal professor - It's my way of giving back!
